Getting started on our new Sydney office

We have been in our Chippendale office for two years and love the area. But we have outgrown the space and for a company that provides workplace solutions- we never really had much of our own technology to show off. So we are moving to a bigger space in Alexandria providing a blank canvas to get things setup right.

I rarely use this site, so I thought documenting the process of setting up a new workspace could be a good way to start blogging again. 

This is the overview of the technology (so far):

  • Video Wall by LG (re-located form our existing office) Custom tiered seating/collaboration furniture for video wall area
  • Web conference hub: custom Pod furniture, Huddly Camera, AOPEN ChromeOS media player- and a touch display of some description. Teams and Skype for business as our main client with integration into ACAEngine.
  • 4x Aruba wireless access and beacons for WiFi triangulation- hotdesk tracking and to launch user interfaces on mobile devices for room control, building access, desk/space check in.  
  • AOPEN ChromeOS touch display to run floor map displaying availability of the above spaces, desk availability and people tracking.  

  • Exterity IPTV to run at any display- AOPEN ChromeOS as the playback device. 

  • My Fender Tele and Epiphone Les Paul mounted next to my desk so I can annoy everyone between calls/emails.
